Mr. JEFFREY HETRICK

It is a great privilege to call myself a Goodwin Eagle! I joined West Aurora School District 129 in the fall of 2013. I have served as Assistant Principal at Hill, Greenman, and Goodwin Elementary Schools and am proud and humbled to now lead the Goodwin Eagles in year #2 as building principal. My teaching experience includes 4th, 5th, 6th grade and Dean of Students within Chicago Public Schools.

I was born and raised in Michigan, however, I am a Hoosier at heart. I attended Indiana University to obtain my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Northeastern Illinois University to achieve my masters degree in Educational Leadership. I now reside in Oswego with my wife and three sons.

I look forward to the continued work with the students, families, and teaching staff this year at Goodwin and District 129 to promote the joy, complexity, and curiosity of learning!

Assistant Principal

Mrs. Regina Garrity

My name is Regina Garrity and this is my second year as assistant principal at Goodwin Elementary. Prior to Goodwin, I served as the assistant principal at Greenman Elementary for 2 years. As an educator I have 10 years teaching experience as a fifth grade teacher, sixth grade math teacher and elementary science coach. I am delighted to serve our students, staff and parents as an administrator. At the same token, I will always be a teacher at heart, and enjoy being part of the classroom environment. My long-term goal is to provide ALL students with an excellent education and inspire a lifelong culture of collaboration, innovation, and leadership, not limited to the scope of academics.

On a personal note, I am originally from Ireland. I moved here in 2006 and now call Chicago my home. In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my extended family.

It is my honor and pleasure to serve the Goodwin community. I look forward to the upcoming school year as we embrace the curiosity, complexity and joy of learning.
