Mr. Bob Halverson
I started my career at West Aurora School District 129 in 1998. I am excited to continue as the Principal at Goodwin Elementary. My experience has included the opportunity to teach kindergarten, 4th grade, physical education, and to be an Assistant Principal in three buildings. I truly believe that we can facilitate a desire to be a lifelong learner in each and every one of our students, by providing them with experiences and supports that meet their individual needs.
Personally I am married to Ruby, who also is an educator. I have three boys: R.J., Vicente, and Fernando. We enjoy spending time together and are constantly at the library, the park or the ball field.
I hope to facilitate the best year yet at Goodwin; please feel free to email or call with any questions.
Mr. Jeff Hetrick
It is a great privilege to call myself a Goodwin Eagle! I joined West Aurora School District 129 in the fall of 2013 as the Assistant Principal of Hill Elementary. After gaining valuable experiences I then moved to Greenman also as Assistant Principal, and now I am happy to call Goodwin my home. Prior to this, I was employed in Chicago Public Schools where I taught 4th grade, 5th/6th grade writing, and ultimately took on the role as Dean of Students.
I made the move to Oswego in 2016 with my wife and two sons, and am now working to become a professional suburbanite! I was born and raised in Michigan, however, I am Hoosier at heart as I attended Indiana University to obtain my teaching degree.
I look forward to the continued work with the students, families, and teaching staff this year at Goodwin and District 129 to promote a love of lifelong learning.
