Mr. JEFFREY HETRICK
It is a great privilege to call myself a Goodwin Eagle! I joined West Aurora School District 129 in the fall of 2013. I have served as assistant principal at Hill, Greenman, and Goodwin Elementary Schools and am proud and humbled to now lead the Goodwin Eagles in year #3 as building principal. My teaching experience includes 4th, 5th, 6th grade and dean of students within Chicago Public Schools.
I was born and raised in Michigan, however, I am a Hoosier at heart. I attended Indiana University to obtain my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Northeastern Illinois University to achieve my masters degree in Educational Leadership. I now reside in Oswego with my wife and three sons.
I look forward to the continued work with the students, families, and teaching staff this year at Goodwin and District 129 to promote the joy, complexity, and curiosity of learning!
Mr. Justin McIntosh
It is my distinct pleasure to begin serving as assistant principal at Goodwin Elementary this year! This is my first year in School District 129 and I arrived at Goodwin from a teaching career in Naperville 203, where I taught 3rd and 4th grade, and served on the School Improvement and Equity team. Prior to that, I was a 1st and 3rd grade teacher and then instructional coach with Millwood Public Schools in Oklahoma City, specializing in data, literacy, and assessment.
Originally from southeast Kentucky, I attended Eastern Kentucky University for my bachelor’s in Child Development and Family Studies. I then joined Teach For America, which placed me in Oklahoma City, and sparked a passion for educational equity and advocacy. I completed my Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration from George Washington University, and after moving to Illinois in 2020, now live in Naperville with my wife, our 15-year-old niece, and our dog, Otis.
I'm excited for the opportunity to learn and grow alongside the amazing staff at Goodwin Elementary, and can't wait to get to work!
